April Designated as National Fair Housing Month

Events Scheduled Throughout Delaware

Dover - The Month of April has been designated as National Fair Housing Month. Governor Ruth Ann Minner, on April 3, 2007, will be signing a Proclamation recognizing nationally and locally April as Fair Housing Month. The Proclamation Signing kicks off a month of events.

We are proud to say that this year marks the 38th Anniversary of Delaware Fair Housing Act. The Fair Housing Act ensures that all citizens in Delaware have equal access to housing free from discrimination. This month provides an opportunity for all Delawareans to rededicate themselves to the principles of free choice and to re-acquaint themselves with these rights and responsibilities.

The Schedule of Events for Fair Housing Month:

• April 1, 2007 - Delaware Community Reinvestment Action Council television show, channel 28, New Castle, Delaware.
• April 3, 2007 - Governor's Fair Housing Proclamation Signing Ceremony, Tatnall Building, William Penn Street, Dover, 11:00 a.m.
• April 3, 2007 - Housing Opportunity of Northern Delaware Proclamation Signing Ceremony, Mayor Baker's office, Louis L. Redding City/County Bldg., 800 French Street, Wilmington at 1:15 p.m.
• April 7, 14, 21, & 28, 2007 - Delaware Community Reinvestment Action Council Radio station, 107.9 FM, presents Fair Housing and Fair Lending from 10:00 a.m. until 12:00 noon.
• April 10, 2007 - Delaware Division of Human Relations / Delaware Community Reinvestment Action Council's 14th Annual Fair Housing Conference, Dover Downs Hotel, Dover, Delaware, 8:30 a.m. to 3:00 p.m.
